FCC is not going anywhere! We’re close to completing some awesome updates for the site.

It’s been a long time in the making but we’re going to be launching our new video chat platform which
will solve all the issues that users have experienced with the old software that we have been using
since FCC launched in 2009.

You will be able to chat, view webcams & stream music in full HD on your computer, laptop, tablet & other mobile devices.

We’re also building a load of new bots for you guys to play. With new games & prizes to be won we hope it’s going to
be a great new experience for all users to enjoy.

We will be recruiting a brand new site management team. If you would like to be involved to make FCC great again send us a message

New Funtoken Shop now live

Recent Downtime

Hi Guys,

This morning you may have been affected by an outage which caused connection issues to the chat servers for a few hours.

First of all I’m sorry for this, but it was unfortunately outside of my control.

The company which hosts the servers which our chat servers are on had some major power issues in their UK data centre which brought all their servers & network down.

They managed to resolve it fairly quickly (within 2-3 hours) but I know it’s a major pain not being able to get into chat.

I was notified immediately by our site monitoring solution and started following the issues on their website.

If it had taken much longer to get access to our servers I was willing to purchase temporary servers elsewhere and spend time restoring your chat servers onto them. Fortunately this was not needed as it is an extra expense.

I’m working on some redundancy plans so this shouldn’t have this much effect and downtime in the future.

Once again, apologies for the downtime and hope to see you all in chat soon.

You can now purchase custom chat icons with Funtokens! Perfect to jazz up your username in chat and also shows on the online page.
They cost 500 Funtokens each and last 1 month.
Visit the chat-icons page to browse and choose your favourite.
If you need funtokens, they are also now available to buy in the shop.
Get them while they’re hot!
Right now there are limited icons available but we’ll be adding a load more for the new chat software.

Client Update 4.0.1.2

Today we have released a client update, version 4.0.1.2
This release fixes current issues with high latency connections and should solve any current lag issues.
Your client should automatically update when next launched. This update is recommended for all users.

If you have issues upgrading to 4.0.1.2 we suggest uninstalling fully and downloading/installing the new one from the website.

Management Team Elections

We would like each server to put forward one person to be on this team.

The team will have monthly meetings (more regular if needed) with the site core team & owners:

Organise events, publicise the site, vote in new ideas, discuss new features and much more.

Added Who’s Online in the tools menu.
Added Server Control in the tools menu.
Added Logout in the file menu.

Fixes:

Change server option will now not require you to log in again.
Improved Camfrog ActiveX fixes.
Improved API calls to reduce missing items from whos online lists.

Release: Server Control Panel

Over the past few weeks we’ve been working hard on the latest new features for FCC – Late last week we completed a server control panel for server owners & operators.

Features:

Easily see who is online
Monitor number of rooms
See how has visited your server today
View your Owner & Operator lists
View how many Owners or Operators are currently online
Editable rules which get shown before entering
Set a banner for your rules page
Edit your server description
Verification system – turn this on to restrict non-verified users
View your banlist
Monitor server stats including donations, server visits and high user count – compete with other servers!

It is also fully compatible with mobile phones and tablets so now you can monitor your server easily on the move!

New Chat System
For a few months now we have been working on new chat software which will allow you to chat from any browser, any operating system and any device.
This means that finally Mac/Linux users will be able to join chat as well as users on mobile & tablets.

Age Verification System
Server Owners will be able to choose to activate an age verification system, where unverified users will only have access to the Lobby until verified.
Verification can be done manually or by one of the many online age verification services.

Webcam Block
Allow users to block people from viewing their webcam.

Bots
As always, development on all of our bots will continue, coming soon: DJBot, OpBot and MathBot
