FCC Update
May 24, 2013 in Announcements, Blog, News
Hi Guys,
As you will have noticed, currently we’re running only one chatserver as a temporary measure. Hopefully this blog post will explain why!
Back in 2010 PalTalk acquired Camfrog and its services & products.
We were unsure how this would affect the running of Funchatcam (FCC) at the time, although there didn’t seem to be any re-percussions.
As of some point last week Camfrog updated their ActiveX control (which our client uses to access the FCC chatservers) and changed it in such a way that chatters were unable to join the chat rooms.
This was totally out of our control.
The single (newer) chatserver which you see now is a temporary measure while we try and work out the best way to adjust to these activeX changes.
There may be a way to get the older servers working again, or there may not. What I can tell you is that we’re working hard to try and come to a solution that fits everyone needs.
Can I ask everyone, in the meantime, to please be patient we’re rolling through these changes and frustrations just like you! 🙂
Many, MANY thanks to those who have donated in the last few hours, this really helps. As a result of the recent donations we will be able to upgrade the server to cope with these latest changes.
If YOU would like to donate you can click the donate button on the website. Any amount however small will really help.
If you have any issues or concerns, please either come and see myself or Fairyfeet or send an email to [email protected]
Many thanks for reading this, lets stick together and continue to make FCC the best webcam community ever!
