Hi Guys,

This morning you may have been affected by an outage which caused connection issues to the chat servers for a few hours.

First of all I’m sorry for this, but it was unfortunately outside of my control.

The company which hosts the servers which our chat servers are on had some major power issues in their UK data centre which brought all their servers & network down.

They managed to resolve it fairly quickly (within 2-3 hours) but I know it’s a major pain not being able to get into chat.

I was notified immediately by our site monitoring solution and started following the issues on their website.

If it had taken much longer to get access to our servers I was willing to purchase temporary servers elsewhere and spend time restoring your chat servers onto them. Fortunately this was not needed as it is an extra expense.

I’m working on some redundancy plans so this shouldn’t have this much effect and downtime in the future.
